At the beginning of each player's turn (except in the first round) the cards marked by <img src="../img/red_x_sign.png" width="16" height="16" /> icons will be discarded, leaving one or more empty spaces on the left end of the row. There will also be other empty spaces if the previous player took any cards. All cards will slide left into the empty spaces and new cards will be dealt on the right from the current civil deck. Thus, cards get less expensive over time until someone takes them or until they are automatically discarded.
