A strong military with newly discovered <a href="military_cards.html#tactics">tactics</a> will help you avoid some of the unfavorable <a href="military_cards.html#events">events</a> and put you in a position to <a href="military_cards.html#colonization">colonize your first territories</a>. The game grows more interactive as civilizations agree to <a href="military_cards.html#pacts">pacts</a> or display <a href="military_cards.html#aggressions">aggression</a>.
