Sometimes an angry face can be fixed by increasing your population. The new worker is idle and discontent, but at least you've averted an uprising. In other situations, increasing your population can empty a new section of your yellow bank, which actually makes the problem worse.

To avoid unhappiness, it helps to understand your yellow bank's happiness indicator. Your yellow bank is divided into 5 sections. If the first section (the one on the far right) is empty, you require 1 happy face. If you empty the next section, you require another happy face. The final three sections require 1 happy face if they are half empty and 2 happy faces if they are completely empty.
